You can nominate an individual or a team of Mitie people for anything that makes a real difference to you, a colleague or a customer. It could be for showing lots of initiative and fresh thinking, bags of passion and commitment, or for demonstrating a willingness to always go the extra mile in their daily job.
All nominations receive a Mitie Star Badge, certificate and recognition for their achievement through their Management. Cash prizes for the runners up that win a specific category can be awarded between £150-£250. All nominations are based on bringing our new values to life and assessed by our Senior Leaders and nominated Champions. There are annual celebration events held to recognise those in receipt of awards along with the consideration towards one of our three star awards of £2,500, £5,000 or £10,000 cash prizes.
Some of this information, as part of our benefits offer, may not be relevant to you, but your contract of employment will confirm which you are entitled to. In some cases, your entitlement to such benefits may only be triggered once you have passed your probationary period, but your contract will confirm this too.

Thank you Fridays - Feel Good Friday
Every Friday, we encourage our people to say thank you’ to someone who has delivered ‘the exceptional, every day’ during the week. Feel Good Friday is about actively looking for ways to acknowledge contributions and celebrate a ‘job well done’. Every Friday, we will be publishing a story online about someone who has done something exceptional. We encourage people to post their own #FeelGoodFriday on Yammer and other social channels.
Cycle to work
At Mitie we offer a cycle to work scheme that allows you to hire a bike (interest free) while making attractive tax and National Insurance savings over a 12-month hire period. This ensures you don’t have to spend a fortune on a bike to enjoy the benefits of cycling to work, and you get to spread the costs over a year. At the end of the year, you get the opportunity to keep the bike.
Save As You Earn (SAYE) Scheme
Our SAYE Scheme is a savings-based scheme which enables you to purchase shares and own a little bit of the company you work for. It’s an easy and safe way to save money regularly and it gives you the option to use these savings to buy more shares at a special discount.

Share Incentive Plan (SIP)
We all know we need to save and invest for the future but putting money aside regularly can be a big challenge. The SIP is an all-employee share plan that gives you a chance to buy Mitie shares at a discount. The main advantage of buying Mitie shares through the SIP is that you don’t have to pay income tax or National Insurance contributions on the part of your pay you decide to invest through the plan.
Saving for your retirement is really crucial. Mitie has two pension schemes, Mitie Group plc (Scottish Widows) Group Personal Pension Plan and The People’s Pension.
Mitie Group plc (Scottish Widows) Group Personal Pension Plan (SWGPP)
You may be invited to join the Mitie Group plc (Scottish Widows) Group Personal Pension Plan when you start at Mitie. If you have been invited to join then you will have the level of contribution available to you in your contract of employment.
The People’s Pension
Under current legislation, the Government requires employers to enrol their employees into a workplace pension scheme and for both you and Mitie to make contributions towards it. This is known as “auto-enrolment” (AE) and Mitie has chosen to use The People’s Pension scheme for auto-enrolment.

Vodafone Employee Advantage Scheme

Long Service Awards
Our Long Service Awards recognise and celebrate employees who have dedicated their time and efforts at Mitie and acknowledge their important contribution to the business.
The milestone anniversaries that will be celebrated across the business are: 1, 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 years. A variety of e-Cards, certificates, badges, letters are issued to our employees along with the recognition that right goes along with it. For those that reach significant milestones such as 30 years & above, an annual celebration is held and hosted by our Senior Leadership Teams at the Shard in London.
